Bobby Few/ Avram Fefer Quartet
Sanctuary (CIMP 2006)
Avram's first recording in the classic jazz quartet format of saxophone and rhythm section (Hilliard Greene and Newman Baker on bass and drums respectively). This CD includes elements that might conjure up images of the 'Blue Note' era------the blues, gospel, and latin music are heard as influences---but the overall sound also reflects Fefer's long and varied experience in the avant-garde, embracing both swing and abstraction as sources of musical intensity.

Avram Fefer / Bobby Few Duo
Kindred Spirits (Boxholder 2005)
Recorded in the summer of 2004 near Paris, this recording presents the lyrical side of the duo, presenting classics by Thelonious Monk, Charles Mingus and Duke Ellington as well as a couple of originals. Avram and Bobby both share a love of the melodic, the soulful, and the romantic as demonstrated in their relaxed approach to the material on this CD.

Avram Fefer / Bobby Few Duo
Heavenly Places (Boxholder 2005))
This CD combines the tail end of the Kindred Spirits recording session with part of a live set from a festival in Belgium recorded just days before. The duo is heard letting loose in a spontaneous burst of improvisation at the end of the recording day--- a moment of authentic musical liberation. The festival performance which follows brings the power of their musical empathy to a live concert setting (and 100 degree temperatures).

Avram Fefer / Michael Bisio Duo
Painting Breath, Stoking Fire (CIMP 2005)
This is another brand new duo release---this time with virtuoso bassist and unsung hero, Michael Bisio. They perform Avram's one-hour, twelve-part suite (Suite for 2005) as a vehicle for improvisation and varying combinations of woodwinds and contrabass. Avram plays, in order---alto flute, bass clarinet, clarinet, alto sax, and tenor sax---as he joins this moving bassist on an extended, episodic tone poem. Full of sensitivity, interplay, and inventiveness.

Michael Bisio Quartet
Connections (CIMP 2005)
Mike and Avram team up with Jay Rosen on drums and Steve Gauci on tenor as they play some beautiful compositions by the leader. Displaying wonderful group interaction, musical shape and development, this CD also features a sound event thought to be without precedent in recording history....(Hint: it happens on Basic Deconstruction)

Avram Fefer/ Bobby Few/ Wilber Morris
Few and Far Between (Boxholder 2002 )
is a live trio date with piano legend Bobby Few and late great bassist Wilber Morris recorded at Tonic in New York City in June 2000. This CD includes a composition by each of the band's members as well as Mingus' Nostalgia in Times Square. Featuring some great vocal effects by Wilber and extensive group improvisation, this disc was chosen by Downbeat Magazine as one of the Best of 2002 .

Avram Fefer Trio
Calling All Spirits (Cadence 2001)
Fefer's debut disc as a leader presents his trio with drummer Igal Foni and bassist Eric Revis. Including original compositions as well as pieces by Mingus, Cherry, and Coleman, this disc presents a typical evening's repetoire for the band and demonstrates Fefer's love and understanding of the vast sax-bass-drums tradition. This recording was especially well-received by critics and listeners and remains what Fefer calls "a defining musical moment for me----documentation of a real working band and the culmination of a decade of repertoire development and sound exploration."
