Overview

I have been fortunate to participate in a wide variety of musical projects. Some are single events, while others have grown into long-term collaborations. Click the links to specific projects - including videos and photos - or click here to listen to many of my albums.

Juba Lee is an unabashed celebration of freedom, interaction, and sonic possibility.”

Juba Lee (2022)

FEATURING:

Avram Fefer --- Saxes, Bass Clarinet
Marc Ribot --- Electric Guitar
Eric Revis --- Acoustic Bass
Chad Taylor --- Drums

https://avramfefer.bandcamp.com

Our second album by this quartet, featuring nine new original tunes that highlight our global melodic and rhythmic sensibilities, sophisticated group interaction, and a deep sense of groove.

Saxophonist Avram Fefer pens tunes that are rambunctious and serpentine, falling somewhere on a spectrum between Charles Mingus and Ornette Coleman. Juba Lee is the second outing for a new quartet that adds Marc Ribot to Fefer’s longstanding trio with bassist Eric Revis and drummer Chad Taylor. The veteran guitarist is an apt choice, jolting the band with rough-hewn brashness and slippery fluidity. “ -  WBGO Radio

TESTAMENT (2019)

FEATURING:

Avram Fefer --- Saxes and Compositions
Marc Ribot --- Electric Guitar
Eric Revis --- Acoustic Bass
Chad Taylor --- Drums

https://avramfefer.bandcamp.com

A new quartet album featuring seven of my original tunes, and one by Chad Taylor. Renowned Guitarist Marc Ribot brings a quality of ruggedness, lyricism, and counterpoint to the band, while Chad and Eric provide the creative propulsion that has fueled our previous trio recordings. Marc blended into the group seamlessly while adding his own distinctive musical voice to the overall sound, resulting in a seriously powerful quartet rendering of my music.
